The picture has been re-lined at some point in the past. The paint surface shows craquelure throughout, and some small losses to the varnish. The lower left hand corner shows a scratch approximately 10cm long. Examination under UV shows the odd small area of retouching, but no evidence of extensive restoration. There are various small spots of dirt and residue across the surface, and the picture would therefore benefit from cleaning. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows rubbing and wear to the gilt highlights, with some evidence of repair to the moulded details.
