Fees

A Staffordshire pearlware cow in the manner of Obadiah Sherratt, early 19th century, modelled standing with head down, set to a moulded naturalistic base decorated with polychrome enamel rainbows, 13cm high (at fault)

More Information

The piece is missing the top part of its bocage tree, although the lower trunk is still present and supporting the cow model. The glaze shows fine surface crazing throughout, and some losses to the surface finish. The horns and ears show evidence of restoration. The base shows the odd firing pit and frit, and the lower edge shows some small nibbles commensurate with age.
