A selection of silver and white metal boxes, cases and compacts, to include a silver and yellow guilloche enamel compact by Crisford & Norris, Birmingham 1921, 41mm diameter, a further enamel compact, marks for Birmingham 1917, 44mm diameter (at fault), a white metal circular pill box with purple guilloche enamel decoration, 30mm diameter, a continental Art Nouveau silver plated pill box, 29mm x 25mm, and a further four silver and white metal cases of assorted styles and dates (8)
The small silver compact with blue and floral enamel (pictured furthest left) has a jammed lid and will not open. It is very heavily dented, and has some splitting around the edges. There is some loss to the edge of the cover.
There is some loss to the enamel of the yellow example (pictured front) around the lip. There is a moderate amount of denting to the case, concentrated at the edges.
The purple example is in good order. There is a small dent to the edge of the base, but no other major damage or repair. Please see pictures for hallmarks on the inside.
There is light denting, scratching, wear and tear to all other pieces commensurate with age and light use. The covers open and close smoothly, though some of the lids do not sit completely flush.
