After John Speed (1552-1629), WALES, an engraved map on paper, twelve oval vignettes of principal cities to the vertical margins and inset views of Bangor, St. Davids, Llandaff and St Asaph, later hand coloured, first published in Speed's 'Theatre of Great Britaine' by Thomas Bassett & Richard Chiswell in 1676, visible plate mark, 38.5cm x 52cm (the sheet 44.6cm x 60.4cm), the sheet pasted flat to board, framed and glazed; with after Johannes Janssonius [Jan Jansson/Jan Janszoon] (1588-1664), CERETICA SIVE CARDIGANENSIS COMITATUS ANGLIS CARDIGAN SHIRE, an engraved map on laid paper, later hand coloured, published for a Latin edition of Jansson's Atlas Novus circa 1650, Latin text verso, double sided glazed frame, 55.5cm x 68cm overall (2)
