A Victorian silver card case by George Unite, Birmingham 1872, of shaped rectangular form, chased geometric decoration, cartouche to centre with monogrammed initials, 9.8cm x 6.9cm, weight 1.90ozt

No signs of splitting or repair to the body or cover. There is misshaping to the body and cover, some compression around the centre (please see pictures for illustration). There are some minor dents around the corners and highpoints of the border. Some wear to the hallmarks, but they are legible. Hinge opens smoothly and closes flush. There is moderate scratching and wear to the case exterior, with some heavy scratching around the shield cartouche on both sides. The decoration is crisp and clear.
