More Information

This piece is not marked Betjeman.

The tantalus is in fair order. Though there is a key with this tantalus, it does not open with this key and we are unable to open it. There are no splits, signs of major damage or repair work to any part of the frame. There is some light denting, moderate scratching and wear consistent with use, most notably at the base and feet. The bottles appear to be in good order - there are some chips and abrasions to the high points of the hobnail decoration, but there does not appear to be any cracks or fractures. Please note that the bottle have not been fully inspected because they are locked in the tantalus.
