A Victorian silver sewing etui by Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1898, designed as a shield with a foiled cross motif to centre and snap clasp fastening, lined interior with a pair of thread scissors, 6.8cm long, weight 1.13ozt

Date letter to reverse worn, silver lion mark to front worn. No denting, pitting, thinning or splitting to body. Some puncture marks to foil cross, and some 'bubbling' apparent. Interior has snags to fabric, and some staining/paint marks, and does appear to be coming away from the interior slightly. Scissors are very worn, have a slight bend to the tip. They are not hallmarks, and may be later.
