A Victorian silver agate set matchbox holder by Adie and Lovekin, Birmingham 1892, of rectangular form on four ball feet, with a shield and panel design to the cover set with bloodstone, blue lace agate, jasper and carnelian, 7.4cm x 5cm x 4cm, together with a white metal cigarette case, of rectangular form with niello decoration depicting a North African scene, 10cm x 8.2cm, gross weight 6.39ozt (2)

Matchbox Holder: Fair/Poor; There is heavy solder repair to the frame and possible signs to the underneath There are some areas of splitting around the frame and some denting/light misshaping to the frame. Heavy scratching and wear. The matchbox holder does wobble slightly on a level surface. There is moderate amount of nibbling and loss to the agate panels, concentrated around their edges.

Cigarette case: Good order. No major dents, splitting or signs of repair. Moderate scratching and wear to the exterior and interior. Some scratching and minor loss to the niello, but this is largely in good order. Interior strap shows slight signs of pulling but is largely in good order. Cover opens smoothly and snaps shut. Button release mechanism is working, but is stiff.
